How Word "CHOICES" Transform Your Mind

The way we speak has powerful impact on our ability to be successful and happy yet few of us are intentional with our choice of words. Studies have shown that use of negative words like “no” can actually change the release of hormones and neurotransmitters  to ones that damage key structures that regulate your memory, feelings, and emotions.  Changing the way we speak to ourselves and to others through making better word choices can impact our optimism and improve the willingness of others to hear what we are saying.
Here are a few tips on how to make your language work for you.

The most powerful word in your vocabulary…YET.
Often we make statements like “I can’t speak French” or “I don’t know how to lose weight” but by adding one little word, yet, to the end of each sentence you change the sentiment from something you cannot do to something you aspire to do. Your brain recognizes the subtle difference between a hopeless statement and one that suggests that at a future time it will happen. Whenever you start something new, remember this helper word to make sentences stronger and more hopeful. For example, “I don’t know anything about economics yet” or “I haven’t clear an exam yet.”

Boost For The Day: DIE EVERYDAY

Dear Friends,

Does the title surprise you all a bit, does it leave you with a sense of morbidness?

Well then read on, to get rid of that feeling. Today together we will face the fear of Death! As human beings we have more often than not have been taught to escape conversation about death. Often forgetting, that the truth should always be looked at in the eyes and not made to run from.

A few weeks back a family friend Padma, succumbed to  2 year long battle against a rare cancer. She had just turned 14. Despite her tender age, she had the equanimity of a sage when she embraced death. It was indeed painful to see a super cheerful girl with a super mature heart fade away into the sunset of life.

Such stories of deaths, are a stark reminder of the utter mortality of life, at how momentary every thing is. It may sound pessimistic to think about death, but it is death which brings intensity and purpose to our lives.

Boost For The Day: Only You Can Make It Happen

Dear Friends,
We are sure a lot of you experience anger, frustration at your inability to hit your goals, to make life work as you want it to go. But dear friends, life is a journey that comes packed with lessons that it wants you to learn, just so that you get better as a person. Life is much much deeper that we give credit to it for. Do not take life's challenges as a threat, or bad luck, rather go embrace it because only then will you be able to understand the reason that challenge has come your way.

Having understood that we alone have to face life and build it, we must take full advantage of it. We must become accountable for this precious life given to us and own responsibility for making it a success or a failure. We cannot complain about life's situations and blame others for what we make of it.

Also we cannot live in false hopes that success will come our way without efforts. the only thing that happens without effort is growing old.

Why undue favours given to OKCL: AG

Bhubaneswar: The accountant general (AG) office here has questioned the way Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) was formed. It has also objected to the state government offering undue financial favours to OKCL, copies of the AG memorandum to the state government shows.

TOI in a report "Chief secy-led OKCL not govt company" on December 26 last year, had questioned the way the state government notified OKCL as a company in the Odisha Gazette, making it look like a government body, though it was not. It has been registered as a public limited company. Currently, higher education secretary is the chairman of OKCL.

Indramani Tripathy, joint secretary, school and mass education department, on Wednesday sought response from Ratnakar Rout, state project director, Odisha Madhyamika Siksha Mission (OMSM), the state's nodal agency to implement the Centre-sponsored Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan (RMSA), on the AG's audit objections. The RMSA has released Rs 177 crore to the OKCL in 2013-2015 for implementation of information communication technology (ICT) programme in schools.

An Ugly Personality Destroys A Pretty Face

The only thing standing between you and your dreams is yourself. Specifically, it is your personality. A common dictionary definition explains a personality as: “The pattern of collective character, behavioral, temperamental, emotional, and mental traits of a person.” Or in more simple terms, your personality is the expression of the way you think and act.
Success is not one simple act, it’s a summation of your habits. In today’s world so many people want to become an overnight success. However, what you don’t realize is that the most successful people work extremely hard. Perfecting and practicing your craft are keys to success. The best way you can systematize doing those things is by creating positive habits.
Motivation is what gets you started.
Habit is what keeps you going.

Bad Habit #1: Not being disciplined with your time

Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, time is our most precious and limited resource. There are only 24 hours in one day. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that you’ll wake up tomorrow. That being said, it’s critical that you’re disciplined with your time.

Sleeping and waking up at the same time everyday is good for your body and helpful in setting a disciplined, daily routine. Besides being strict about when you wake up and go to bed, it’s also important to be protective of your time. A great tactic to do this is to designate a few days or specific hours throughout the week for “success time.” These are blocks of time where you only focus on doing things that contribute to your personal goals, whether it’s learning a new hobby or working on a side business. By designating your “success time,” you’ll be able to focus on the things that matter most to you and will be less tempted to say “yes” to last minute social invitations or distractions that can get in your way. You also have to be able to say “no” to committing to things that don’t interest or benefit you. Remember, the few hours you spend doing something you’re not that into are hours that you could have spent learning or growing yourself.

Bad Habit #2: Analysis Paralysis
